Director of Veterans Services
The Director of Veterans Services is responsible for advising, leading and supporting operational managers of the veterans programs. Day-to-day operational leadership is one aspect of this position. The Director will also work with the CEO to build and implement strategies to grow veteran services and to establish the veterans services of Interfaith as one of the preeminent service providers to veterans in San Diego and a nationally recognized center of excellence for veterans services. The Director will have line management authority over all staff working in the veterans programs, but other leaders within Interfaith in other divisions will play an important role in assisting in the professional development of veterans’ services. Other Interfaith leaders who will assist in the professional development of veterans services will include: Director of Development, Chief Financial Officer, Grants Writer, Director of Social Services, Manager of Vocational Rehabilitation, and the Associate Director. A matrix management approach to program development will be utilized; therefore, the Director of Veterans Services will be expected to demonstrate strong leadership and collaborative skills working with a talented agency executive team. The Director must have the knowledge and leadership attributes to welcome the professional expertise of others while at the same time maintaining the integrity and development momentum of the veterans program. Reporting to the CEO, and in collaboration with the other executives identified, the Director will be responsible for all areas of veterans programs, including: budgeting, billing, an integrated system of social service support, quality assurance, safety, information management, veterans oriented donor relations, public relations, inter-agency relations for veterans services, facilities management, materials management, contract accounting management and compliance. It is expected that all programs will be conducted in accordance with best practice principles and will be based on core values of excellence, innovation and caring. The position is strongly oriented toward establishing a consultative, strategic business partner role with the CEO, members of the executive team, and the Veterans Advisory Committee. The successful candidate will need to have a desire to partner with and appreciate his or her operations colleagues. Marketing and Communications Coordinator
Responsibilities & Duties
- Develops all print, online, and multi-media communications from creation through distribution including graphic design, writing, and editing; coordinates production and logistics for all agency marketing materials, annual reports, newsletters, donor solicitations, event marketing materials, and other special projects
- Develops and manages all web and social media tools to grow positive community awareness and engagement with Interfaith’s programs
- Works with all Interfaith programs to coordinate external communication and ensure a consistent voice in all distributed materials
- Manages relationships with communications-related vendors for special communications projects including web campaigns, video production, and photo shoots
- Regularly presents at and assists with weekend and evening events
- Other communications-related duties as assigned by supervisor
