The Social Services Department provides emergency walk-in assistance in both the Escondido and Oceanside offices. Volunteer intake workers and staff provide basic assessments, referrals, and basic needs services to clients requesting assistance regardless of the family’s income. Services provided may include 3 days worth non-perishable food items; gas vouchers or bus passes for job interviews and doctor’s appointments, and assistance with identification cards, prescriptions and birth certificates, among other services. Case managers are able to provide assistance (by appointment only) with past due utility bills and rental assistance during certain times of the year.
Some restrictions apply to services and may depend on the funding available and the time of the request. |
