Community Connections
At the heart of Interfaith lives the conviction that we can accomplish more good together than any one of us alone.
It was the spirit collaboration that started Interfaith Community Services over three decades ago when a handful of diverse faith communities decided to work together to help people get back on their feet. Today, we are more committed than ever before to bringing together those who have something to give, to meet the needs of those who are hurting.
We foster collaborative connections and space in a number of ways:
The Interfaith Community Connector
Every week we publish a short news bulletin containing programs and events from our faith center network and social service partners in North San Diego County. To sign up to receive this bulletin, or to have your organization’s events posted, email us at connector@interfaithservices.org.
General Membership Meetings
Every other month we host a general meeting for our faith center members, community partners, and other social service organizations. We discuss current topics, challenges, and ideas for tackling the biggest social service challenges in our community.
Everyone is welcome at our General Meetings. To find out the dates for the next meeting, check our Events page.
Town Hall Gatherings
When a new challenge or issue requires a more focused working meeting than our General Meeting format, we will sometimes host a series of Town Hall style gatherings designed to bring together the stakeholders in our network and in the community to organize a collaborative effort. Keep your eye on the Events page for any upcoming Town Hall gatherings.
The Alliance for Regional Solutions
Several years ago during an extremely cold winter, when the absence of winter shelters for the homeless became a life-threatening problem, Interfaith was instrumental in the creation of the Alliance for Regional Solutions, a community-wide collaboration to tackle common social challenges. Interfaith remains a strong participating member in the Alliance today and is proud to be working with other vital organizations to forge better solutions to these common problems.
