Enhancement of Betty and Melvin Cohn Center Underway
The Betty and Melvin Cohn Center is undergoing a $471,000 enhancement, thanks to the support of a $150,000 grant from the Nordson Corporation and a $100,000 grant from the San Diego County, District 3 Board of Supervisor Kristin Gaspar.
“The Recovery and Wellness Center is an innovative approach to addressing the needs of our North County residents suffering from addiction,” said Supervisor Gaspar. “This public-private partnership will serve as a beacon of hope for so many. By effectively combining levels of treatment under one roof, we will better be able to serve clients through the continuum of care.”
These enhancements include new painting and flooring, as well as the creation of the Joan and Lee James Recovery and Wellness Center. Our longstanding warehouse facility, which will continue to be named in honor of Ben and Darlene Fauber, will transform into classrooms and offices. In addition, Merle’s Place, inspired by Merle Fischlowitz, will house the residential treatment center.
