Escondido Union School District is serving free meals all summer long

Valley-View-Food-Drive_8001Great news for Escondido families struggling to get by and for anyone concerned about hunger in San Diego! Escondido Union School District will be serving free meals all summer long to children ages 1 to 18 at three sites: Rock Springs Elementary, Pioneer Elementary, and Felicita Elementary (click links for locations).

More than 446,000 people in San Diego County live below the poverty line, making them “food insecure”, and nearly 230,000 of them are children who depend on free or reduced-price meals provided at school every day. Programs like this ensure that these kids can still get the nutrition they need over the summer.
