Francis Parker students & parents serve dinner at Haven House
On September 2, a group of students and parents from San Diego’s Francis Parker college preparatory school came to Interfaith to serve residents of the Haven House Year-round Emergency Shelter. The group of over 20 began with a tour of Interfaith facilities before preparing and serving dinner to shelter residents.
Facilitated by Interfaith board member and Francis Parker parent, Zeynep Ilgaz, the evening was a wonderful learning experience for the students and resulted in a delicious dinner of chicken and rice for the folks at Haven House. The group brought enough food to ensure that the people Interfaith serves would have leftovers throughout the Labor Day weekend. And one member went above and beyond, donating 60 jars of peanut butter and six boxes of diapers to Julia’s pantry.
Thank you, Francis Parker students and parents, for your commitment to serving the community!
