Incarnation Lutheran Hosts annual Service Day at Interfaith

icl2Interfaith welcomed members from Incarnation Lutheran Church to several of our locations last weekend as they completed their annual Day of Service. A remarkable 147 volunteers met at Interfaith’s Betty and Melvin Cohn Center Escondido headquarters for a morning service before completing a variety of projects, including:

  • Assembling over 200 sack lunches and hygiene kits
  • Landscaping projects (including weeding and mulching) and our Family Housing Program Aster St. garden
  • Landscaping projects at our Tikkun women’s shelter
  • Tree trimming at Corrine’s Cottage women’s shelter, Tikkun women’s shelter and the Men’s Shelter
  • Cleaning and painting the staff lounge at Interfaith’s Betty and Melvin Cohn Center headquarters
  • icl3Washing the windows at the Betty and Melvin Cohn Center Nutrition Center
  • Decorating placemats for Interfaith’s Thanksgiving meal service
  • And creating and hanging inspirational posters for Veterans Day and Thanksgiving

To top it all off, at the end of the Day of Service, Pastor Luther Symons presented Interfaith with a check for the operation of our new Poway-Rancho Bernardo satellite office at Mt. Olive Lutheran Church. Interfaith thanks all of the incredible volunteers who made this yet another successful Day of Service, and continue to make a significant impact on the environment at Interfaith for those we serve.
