We’re Open: Phase 1 of Recovery & Wellness Center Launches!

Dear Friends of Interfaith,

Friday afternoon we launched the first phase of our Recovery & Wellness Center. Now open to both veteran and civilian men and women, Phase 1 of the Recovery & Wellness Center is a comprehensive residential and community-based mental health and substance abuse program. Located at our Betty and Melvin Cohn Center Escondido headquarters, the 44-bed program will also address the underlying challenges and struggles our North County low-income and homeless neighbors face.
Some of you might ask, “Why now?”
Well, there really couldn’t be a better time for us to launch this first piece of the puzzle.
Just in time for the holidays, we are now able to provide somewhere safe to sleep and recover for 44 more homeless community members struggling with addiction and mental illness. We are honored to be able to help our neighbors in their journey towards sobriety and believe that YOU can help them in this process, too.
As is the case with all of Interfaith’s housing programs, our ultimate goal is to help each individual move into a home of their own, fully self-reliant. Given our impressive record of success – over 90% of individuals helped with housing assistance have successfully maintained their own housing since 2016  – we are confident that the Recovery & Wellness Center will only build upon our ability to help people help themselves throughout the region for years to come.
In order to do this though, we need your help. The Alliance Healthcare Foundation believes in our vision for this program, and awarded us their $1 million Innovation Initiative grant in 2016. Those funds are being used for start-up costs, however in order to keep this vital and unique program running, we will need your support:
  • Volunteer to serve meals, help individuals with resumes and job searches, provide basic intake for people seeking help, or a number of other direct-service volunteer opportunities.
  • Donate in-kind items for the new residential program and for individuals graduating into their housing. New twin bedding, towels, washcloths, socks, and personal hygiene items are all needed.
  • Make a monetary gift by clicking here and selecting “Mental Health & Substance Abuse” or “Housing 1000” from the pull-down menu.
Thank you. Thank you for your support of Interfaith Community Services. You are a member of our Interfaith family, and your support has helped thousands of people this year. On behalf of the men and women you are now helping through our Recovery & Wellness Center, THANK YOU!
We so greatly appreciate you. Have a joyous, memorable, and meaningful holiday season knowing that you are providing just that for others in need.
Yours in Service,
Greg Anglea
