Needs of the Week: December 12th
At the beginning of every week, Interfaith will be sharing both an in-kind donation and volunteer project “Need of the Week.” These are currently the items and volunteer projects we need the most assistance with. Give us a call today at (760) 489-6380 ext. 204 to get involved today!
After experiencing homelessness, getting the call that you have an apartment is a life-changing moment. However, once you’ve signed the papers and get your keys, the struggle doesn’t just stop there – what about furniture, cleaning supplies, or dishes to cook your meals with?
As part of Interfaith’s Make-It-A-Home program, which helps our clients move into their own homes by providing home furnishing essentials, Interfaith is asking that you donate dressers and lamps this holiday season!
During the 2015 tax season (January 2016 – April 2016), Interfaith volunteers and staff helped over 1,900 families file their taxes which resulted in over $3M in refunds that went to the people needing it most and back into our communities! The Volunteer Income Tax Assistance program is so rewarding — you can be part of the VITA program in so many capacities. We need Greeters, Tax Preparers, Quality Reviewers and Translators.
There will be two information meetings the second week of December. Please sign up using the link below for the date and location that best suits your availability. At the meeting, we will discuss what the program entails and details about the volunteer positions. Training materials will be available at the meeting too. And there will be time for Q&A.
Please help us spread the word that Interfaith NEEDs VOLUNTEERs for VITA –bring a friend with you to the meeting, the more volunteers, the more refunds in a timely manner going back into our community’s economy!
