Needs of the Week: February 7th

At the beginning of every week, Interfaith will be sharing both an in-kind donation and volunteer project “Need of the Week.” These are currently the items and volunteer projects we need the most assistance with. Give us a call today at (760) 489-6380 ext. 204 to get involved today!

Volunteer Need of the Week: Volunteer Income Tax Assistants

Appointments are already booking up for tax season here at Interfaith Community Services!

Although we have a number of volunteers to help process returns for our Escondido office, we are looking for more volunteers to work in San Marcos. If we are unable to staff the San Marcos location, we will fall short in providing this vital service to people central in our community, and we’ll miss the chance to contribute to their self-sufficiency.

Last year, Interfaith volunteers helped 1,900 people in the low income sector with their tax returns (simple, easy to process returns). With your support, we can be there for them again in various North County locations. This truly unique volunteer opportunity is a gratifying one — when you give people the news they will be getting $$$ back from the IRS, you generate A LOT of EXCITEMENT!

If there is any way you can help (Greeters, Tax Preparers, Quality Reviewers and Translators), or if you know of someone that is looking for this short-term, results-driven, delightful volunteer opportunity, please contact:

In-Kind Need of the Week: Can Openers

Interfaith is in need of manual can openers that we can distribute to our clients with their emergency food kits! When individuals and families are in need of nutritional support, they can receive 5-day emergency food kits from Interfaith; your donation of can openers will help our clients receiving this support utilize every item they receive.

If you are interested in either of these opportunitiesplease click here or call Micki Hickox, Volunteer Coordinator, at (760) 489-6380 ext. 204.
