Needs of the Week: June 5th

Every week, Interfaith will be sharing both an in-kind donation and volunteer project “Need of the Week.” These are currently the items and volunteer projects we need the most assistance with. Give us a call today at (760) 489-6380 ext. 204 to get involved today!

This week, we need your help coming both volunteer time and in-kind donations:

Sack Lunch Makers

Food is our most basic human need, but hundreds of San Diegans lack food security every day. Each morning, Interfaith provides breakfast for approximately 150 hungry individuals. At the end of the meal, they are also provided a sack lunch for later in the day, all free of charge. By delivering up to 150 lunches, you will be supporting individuals & families in their efforts towards self-sufficiency.

As a sack lunch maker, you and/or your group will make sack lunches at your site (or with advanced arrangements, at Interfaith) with the items below in each bag:

  • Peanut butter and jelly
  • Bread (white or wheat)
  • Granola bars or other healthy snacks
  • Juice box or water bottle
  • A piece of fruit (apple, orange, banana, etc.)

If desired, you can also decorate the lunch bags with colorful or inspirational images or messages (however, please refrain from using religious or political messages.)
