Needs of the Week: September 12th

At the beginning of every week, Interfaith will be sharing both an in-kind donation and volunteer project “Need of the Week.”  These are currently the items and volunteer projects we need the most assistance with. Give us a call to get involved today!

Be a part of Interfaith’s Transitional Youth Academy (TYA) by providing academic mentoring and assistance with workforce development to resilient youth who are at-risk of not graduating high school. Your support of these students will empower them to  successfully graduate high school, achieve college enrollment and succeed in high-growth careers. Staff of this successful program is looking for tutors/mentors this school year at our drop-in center at Ditmar School in Oceanside. Help us create “community” by developing positive relationships with students, and realize what a couple hours of your time each week can accomplish!

Hygiene kits may seem like a simple donation, but for those who are unable to take a shower regularly or cannot afford to purchase toothpaste, they may mean much more than just cleanliness.  Good hygiene can help someone retain they dignity and sense of self-worth. By purchasing and preparing hygiene kits, you can help individuals and families begin to regain their self-sufficiency. Items you can put in your hygiene kit include, but are not limited to:

  • Bars of soap
  • Toothpaste and toothbrush
  • Dental floss
  • Deodorant
  • Shampoo and conditioner
  • Shaving cream
  • Razors
  • Washcloths
  • Feminine hygiene products
