Oceanside Pacific Kiwanis presents volunteer award

Robert Lundquist, a food pantry volunteer in Oceanside, was recognized March 12 by Oceanside Pacific Kiwanis Club as its Volunteer of the Month.

Robert was presented the honor by Mark Caruana, the Kiwanis club’s president, during the group’s weekly meeting.

Robert is so quick with his packing that he was nicknamed “The Mad Bagger.” As the youngest volunteer in the food pantry, Robert does an excellent job of working alongside volunteers with 20-plus years of service who adore him.

The food pantry packages and delivers emergency food supplies for low-income and homeless people.

Bob Adams, Interfaith’s director of development, was the guest speaker at the meeting during which Robert was recognized. He shared with the Kiwanians an overview of the agency and its services and ways in which the club and its members can assist our efforts to help people in need.
