October edition of the Community Connector now available

Mornings are getting crisp, kids Halloween is around the corner, and people are starting to think about the holidays.

For nonprofit organizations this means the busiest and most crucial part of the year is upon us: giving season.

For most charitable organizations, the end of the year is when their donors are preparing to make end-of-year contributions – and those gifts can often make or break community service agencies. It isn’t uncommon for local charities bring in up to 25% or more of their entire annual revenue between Thanksgiving and New Years Eve.

With most of these agencies running on razor thin margins, we wanted to dedicate an issue of the Community Connector to the topic of giving, and the kind of difference generosity can make for the whole community.

Between these pages you’ll find some pretty amazing stories of individuals, foundations, businesses, and congregations who arefinding all kinds of ways to give back to make their community stronger. We hope you’re as inspired as we are by the examples we found.
