Staff Profile: Meet Donna Stinson
One of twelve siblings, Donna was born in Salem, Massachusetts and raised in Portsmouth, New Hampshire. She moved out to Southern California almost twenty years ago and is proud to have raised two children and four stepsons. Prior to joining Interfaith, Donna was no stranger to the social work field; she held positions as a Residential Coordinator for Cross Roads House in New Hampshire, as well as a Senior Recovery Facilitator at North County Serenity House here in Escondido.
Donna first started her work with Interfaith as a Resident Manager at one of the housing program facilities. She provided case management, life skills trainings and recovery instructions to her residents, in addition to actively maintaining a safe and healthy environment for them to live in. After an incredible ten years in that position, Donna was ready to explore other options in the organization.
Today, she works as the Seniors Connections Program Coordinator. In her new role, Donna recruits and trains volunteers for the weekly senior lunches, is on-site to make sure everything runs smoothly, and helps coordinate the expansion of the program. She’s enjoying working with the senior population Interfaith serves and is excited to see where this opportunity will take her!
One quote that Donna believes has truly shaped her professional career path comes from Steve Jobs: “Your work is going to fill a large part of your life, and the only way to be truly satisfied is to do what you believe is great work. And the only way to do great work is to love what you do.”
An Escondido resident, Donna enjoys reading and spending time with her husband and six grandchildren. Interfaith is extremely lucky to have Donna with us and appreciates her dedication to our organization!
