ViaSat Preps Hawthorne Veteran and Family Resource Center for Opening

IMG_9385 copyOn October 3rd, 2015, Interfaith Community Services welcomed local broadband services and technology company, ViaSat, to the new Hawthorne Veteran and Family Resource Center for a service day prior to the facility’s grand opening. The group of nearly 50 volunteers prepped the building for residents by installing computers, assembling bedroom and office furniture, putting together sack lunches and hygiene kits, making cards for clients staying in the facility, and more. After all projects were completed, ViaSat volunteers enjoyed lunch while learning more about Interfaith from Executive Director Greg Anglea and hearing the success story of a former Recuperative Care client, Vincent.

In addition to supporting the Hawthorne Veteran and Family Resource Center with their time and talent, ViaSat also donated $26,000 towards the project. Interfaith appreciates ViaSat’s hard work, donations, and dedication to our local veteran community and looks forward to hosting them for other projects in the future!
