Volunteer spotlight: Glenn Weaver

We love our volunteers and couldn’t possibly reach more than 22,000 people in need every year without their countless hours of selfless service! Each month, we spotlight one of these amazing people!

Glenn Weaver

Title: Veterans Assistance Recuperative Care Volunteer Driver

Time at ICS: 15 months

Duties: Drives clients to and from medical and housing appointments, errands, etc.

Education: Aircraft maintenance training.

Residence: Escondido; native New Yorker.

Current/previous career: Air Force veteran, during Vietnam; later, he drove concrete trucks and worked for Verizon in quality control.

Hobbies: Aviation, transportation: “I love trains, planes, and automobiles.” Glenn enjoys race cars and flying. He has sometimes rented planes for joyrides. Playing guitar.

Interesting fact: Glenn has an excellent memory.

Favorite memories volunteering at ICS: People thanking you daily; I’m here to serve. I’m happy to do it. Clients tell Glenn that if it weren’t for his service, they couldn’t get where they need to go.
