You are essential!

At Interfaith Community Services, we are already seeing how, together, we areessential in providing services to those most vulnerable during these first weeks of the COVID-19 crisis.

Yesterday alone, Interfaith’s Escondido Pantry filled 85 orders for food & hygiene items, helping 192 adults and 101 children.

This is more than double the amount of orders we would fulfill on a “normal day.”

Thank YOU for making our work possible, especially during this time of continually increasing need. The outpouring of support from our community, with volunteers and staff going above and beyond, continued donations of food and hygiene items, and monetary donations to our Emergency Fund, has allowed us to continue our important work. Thank you.

Interfaith has practical ways you can help get involved in our response efforts:

  • Dedicated Volunteers: As an increasing number of volunteers and staff stay home, the need for flexible volunteers who are in good health (not in high-risk categories) is even greater. If interested in volunteering, please contact Micki Hickox.
  • Devoted Staff: With an increased need for our services, and staff in high-risk categories who must stay home, Interfaith is in urgent need of additional staff. We are now hiring Residential Coordinators to support our 24/7 residential positions. Visit our careers page to learn more.
  • Donations of Food & Hygiene Items: With food donations stretched, we are in need of items to keep our pantry stocked, especially sack lunch materials. We are also in need of hygiene items as our shower and laundry facilities continue to be open to those in need, meeting a critical need for hygiene and cleanliness. Donations can be dropped off during business hours, at our 550 W. Washington Ave. Food Pantry. Click here for a list of our most needed items.
  • Monetary Donations: We have created an Emergency Fund to lift up our neighbors in need and address the unique health challenges COVID-19 creates for the poorest of our community. All donations will be matched up to $50,000; so far, we have raised $43,640, so there is still time to have your contribution matched! Click here to donate to help your most vulnerable neighbors.

Thank you for being part of the solution during this extremely difficult time, ensuring Interfaith continues to be there to serve our community.
