Camille Lambert never imagined she and her young daughter would have to leave everything behind to escape domestic violence. Faced with an impossible choice, she chose safety, packing up what she could and starting over with little more than hope for a better future.
Since then, Camille has been doing everything in her power to rebuild. While navigating the challenges of homelessness, she has continued working, caring for her daughter, and taking steps toward healing from the trauma her family experienced. Through it all, her focus has remained the same: creating a safe, stable life where her daughter can simply be a child and feel secure.
Despite the obstacles in front of her, Camille has not lost sight of her dreams. She hopes to secure permanent housing, regain her independence, and one day open an animal rescue shelter, combining her love for animals with her desire to help others.
When unexpected transportation expenses threatened her ability to work and move forward, Interfaith Community Services stepped in to help. With support for critical vehicle-related costs, Camille was able to keep earning income, attending appointments, and continuing her search for permanent housing.
Today, Camille's story is not defined by the violence she escaped, but by the strength she shows every day. She is a loving mother, a hard worker, and someone determined to build a brighter future for her family. Thanks to the support of our community, Camille and her daughter have the chance to keep moving forward, one step at a time, toward the stability, safety, and fresh start they deserve.

The Riveras
The Rivera family was looking forward to a fresh s...
The Rivera family was looking forward to a fresh start when they were approved for a new apartment. But just as they were preparing to move forward, life threw them two unexpected challenges. Mom was recovering from surgery and unable to work, and shortly afterward Dad experienced a serious health emergency that left the family worried about both his recovery and their financial stability.
With two major medical setbacks happening at the same time, the family found themselves struggling to cover the costs of moving into the home they had worked so hard to secure. Like many families facing an unexpected crisis, they needed a helping hand to get through a difficult season.
Through Interfaith Community Services’ Providing Hope Fund, the Rivera family received assistance with their security deposit and several weeks of rent, giving them the support they needed to move into their new home without the fear of losing the opportunity they had worked so hard for.
Today, both parents have recovered and are back on their feet. The family of five is settled into their new home, creating routines, making memories, and looking ahead to the future with optimism and gratitude.
Now, the Rivera family is finally able to exhale. Their new home represents more than four walls. It’s a place where healing can continue, where their children can feel secure, and where the family can focus on making memories instead of worrying about where they’ll sleep. Thanks to the support of caring community members, what could have been a devastating setback became an opportunity for a fresh start and a stronger future together.
This holiday season, they’re looking forward to something many families cherish most: celebrating together in a home of their own, surrounded by comfort, stability, and hope for the year ahead.

For more than a decade, Barbara Whitney has called Interfaith’s senior housing community home. What started as a place to live has become something much more meaningful: a neighborhood where she has built friendships, found encouragement, and created a sense of belonging.
Barbara is a familiar and welcoming presence around the property. Whether she’s attending resident events, enjoying a game of bingo, spending time with neighbors, or volunteering when she can, she brings warmth and kindness wherever she goes. Alongside her two beloved service dogs, Barbara has become an important part of the close-knit circle she loves so much.
Over the years, Interfaith has been there for Barbara in many ways, from providing access to nutritious food through the on-site pantry to helping her navigate technology, manage her budget, and connect with valuable local resources. These services have helped her maintain her independence and continue thriving in the place she proudly calls home.
Barbara often shares how grateful she is for the friendships, care, and sense of security she has found here. She enjoys attending local church services, listening to Christian music, spending time with her dogs, and participating in activities that keep her connected with others.
Like many seniors living on a fixed income, Barbara faces difficult choices when unexpected expenses arise. Help with everyday essentials, household items, and caring for her service animals can make a meaningful difference in her quality of life.
This holiday season, your generosity helps neighbors like Barbara continue to live with comfort, dignity, and independence while knowing they are surrounded by a community that cares. For Barbara, that’s one of the greatest gifts of all.
Patrick

Patrick White has dedicated much of his life to helping others. Drawing from his own experiences and challenges, he has become someone who believes deeply in supporting people through difficult times and encouraging them to keep moving forward.
Earlier this year, Patrick faced an unexpected setback when he lost his job. Almost overnight, he found himself struggling to keep up with expenses and worried about losing the housing he had worked hard to maintain. As rent fell behind, the possibility of eviction became a very real concern.
Although several employment opportunities came his way, not everything worked out as planned. Despite the obstacles, Patrick remained focused on creating a better future for himself. He continued pursuing his education while working toward his Associate’s Degree and never lost sight of his goals.
When Patrick turned to Interfaith Community Services for support, rental assistance helped him stay housed during a difficult transition. That stability gave him the breathing room he needed to continue moving forward. Soon afterward, he secured a new job opportunity that aligned with his interests and passions, allowing him to regain momentum and focus on his future.
Those who know Patrick would tell you that he’s far more comfortable giving help than receiving it. Yet he openly shares how grateful he is for the support he received when he needed it most. His story is a reminder that even the people who spend their lives helping others sometimes need a helping hand themselves.
This holiday season, Patrick is grateful for the gift of stability and a chance to keep building the future he’s working so hard to achieve. Thanks to the support of compassionate community members, his story is one of resilience, opportunity, and the power of not giving up.

Henry never expected to lose the home he had lived in when it was suddenly deemed unsafe and condemned. As renovations were completed to make the property livable again, Henry found himself without a place to stay and facing the uncertainty of homelessness.
During this difficult time, Henry came to Interfaith Community Services’ Oceanside Navigation Center, where he found a safe place to sleep, caring support, and the resources he needed to stay focused on the future. A Veteran who receives VA benefits, Henry worked closely with his case manager and took an active role in his journey. He participated in case management services, joined social activities, and remained engaged in the community around him.
While staying at the shelter, Interfaith helped Henry obtain important documents and connected him with additional resources that supported his path forward. Rather than letting his circumstances define him, Henry stayed patient and determined while waiting for the opportunity to return home.
After several months, Henry received the news he had been hoping for: his home was once again safe and ready for him to return. With permanent housing restored, he was able to leave the shelter and reconnect with the stability and independence he had been missing.

Penny and her husband were doing everything they could to stay afloat when a series of financial challenges began to put their housing at risk. As bills mounted and rent became harder to keep up with, Penny received notice from her property manager and feared that eviction could soon become a reality.
At the same time, Penny was facing health challenges that made life even more difficult. Rising expenses forced her to make tough choices, including struggling to afford the medications she needed. With her husband temporarily out of work, the couple found themselves stretched thin and unsure of how they would get through such a stressful season.
Knowing they needed help to avoid losing their home, Penny turned to Interfaith Community Services for support. Through the Providing Hope Fund, Interfaith was able to provide rental assistance, helping the couple remain housed and giving them the stability they needed to move forward.
That support came at a critical time. Soon after, Penny’s husband secured a new job, bringing renewed hope and financial stability to their household. Together, they have been working hard to get back on their feet and build a stronger future.
Today, Penny and her husband are able to maintain their housing and focus on what’s ahead instead of worrying about losing their home. Their story is a reminder that sometimes a little help at the right moment can make all the difference.
This holiday season, Penny is grateful for the peace of mind that comes with having a safe place to call home. Thanks to the support of a caring community, she and her husband can focus on celebrating the season together and looking forward to brighter days ahead.
Judy

Judy knows what it means to keep moving forward, even when life feels overwhelming. For more than a year and a half, Judy, her partner, her young child, and her brother experienced homelessness, staying wherever they could and relying on the kindness of friends for a place to sleep.
Their situation grew even more difficult when Judy became the victim of severe domestic violence at the hands of her own mother. Faced with an unsafe environment, she made the heartbreaking but courageous decision to leave and protect her family. It meant walking away from what little stability they had, but she knew her child’s well-being had to come first.
Despite everything they had endured, Judy never gave up. She and the other adults in her household kept working hard, holding onto hope that one day they would have a place to call their own. When she was approved for an apartment, it felt like a dream within reach. For the first time in a long time, her family could imagine a future that didn’t revolve around uncertainty and survival.
The challenge was coming up with the move-in costs. That’s when Interfaith Community Services stepped in, covering the family’s first month’s rent, security deposit, and pet deposit so they could move into their new home.
For Judy, receiving those keys meant so much more than securing housing. It meant her child could sleep in the same bed every night. It meant her family could finally unpack their belongings instead of living out of bags. It meant safety, stability, and the chance to begin healing after a long and painful chapter.

Joseph was working full-time while experiencing homelessness, doing everything he could to keep moving forward despite incredibly difficult circumstances. Each day, he came to Interfaith Community Services for a hot breakfast and a shower before heading to work. He was determined to hold onto his job because he knew it was his pathway to a more stable future.
Beneath the surface, however, Joseph was struggling. He shared with Interfaith staff that he had never considered himself a heavy drinker, but after spending nights on the streets, alcohol became a way to cope with the cold and get through the night. What started as a survival mechanism slowly became something he could no longer manage on his own.
Joseph wanted help, but he faced a difficult choice. Entering treatment could mean losing the job he depended on, and without income, he worried his dream of finding housing would slip even further away. Working closely with partners and support staff, Joseph was able to take a medical leave that allowed him to enter treatment without sacrificing his employment.
What began as a short stay in detox became the start of a life-changing journey. As Joseph focused on his recovery, he recognized the value of continued support and committed himself to additional treatment. He worked hard through every stage of the program, building healthy routines, developing new skills, and investing in his future.
Throughout his recovery, Joseph never stopped looking ahead. With support from the Interfaith team, he explored educational opportunities, returned to full-time work, and continued taking positive steps toward long-term stability. Today, he is living in sober housing, saving for his own home, and approaching a full year of sobriety.
Joseph’s story is one of determination, courage, and hope. He didn’t just overcome homelessness and addiction. He chose, day after day, to believe that a better future was possible and to put in the work to achieve it.
