Dear Interfaith Supporter,

You did it! Together, we met the match and unlocked Price Philanthropies’ $1 million gift. While the campaign may be over, the fund has only just begun. People for People will continue to provide critical support through direct services, food, basic needs, access to healthcare, and housing assistance, with a focus on immigrant communities and low-income individuals affected by federal benefit losses.

Here is a story of one of the families the fund has already helped:

Betty Francis was recently laid off and came to Interfaith seeking employment assistance. She and her case manager worked together to search for employment close to her home. Her hard work resulted in a job offer she was excited to accept. Unfortunately, her car brakes unexpectedly malfunctioned, preventing her from having reliable transportation.  

Through the People for People Fund, Interfaith covered the cost of the brake repairs and the required smog test, ensuring Betty has reliable transportation. She is now able to accept the job offer and return to self-sufficiency.

January is Substance Use Disorder Treatment Month! 

Last night, the City of Escondido recognized Interfaith and our dedicated outreach team for their work in expanding access to detox and life-saving treatment in Escondido.

Interfaith staff, board members, and CEO Greg Anglea were present at City Hall to accept this honor. This achievement belongs to you, and everyone else who has stood by us.

Last year, the City of Escondido approved our Withdrawal Management Program expansion, increasing our capacity from 11 beds to 32 beds. As a result, we saw a 46% increase in withdrawal management clients. Thank you to Mayor Dane White, City Council, and city staff for supporting us and believing in the value of recovery, dignity, and second chances.

Make it Count

Our Annual Point-in-Time Count is right around the corner, and we need you! Each January, we conduct this early-morning physical count of people experiencing homelessness in our region in an effort to understand local needs. This is an essential step in securing public and private funding for homelessness services and solutions.

We welcome you to join us at this initiative on Thursday, January 29, from 3:30 a.m. to 8:00 a.m. at 550 W. Washington Ave, Escondido. We’ll have a lot of coffee!

Create Positive Change

Speaking of volunteering, we have many options to choose from, including special one-time events like the Point-in-Time Count to ongoing roles such as working in the pantry, providing front desk support, serving meals at our Turk Recuperative Care Center, or volunteering at our thrift store, Kind Threads: Resale Apparel, located at 251 North City Drive in San Marcos.

With the opening of our thrift store, fashionistas can restock merchandise and sort donated clothing and accessories, putting their skills to the test.
